BASCOM Supports the Educational Community by Releasing: The Faculty Room - An Internet Resource for Teachers

Hauppauge, NY - November 20, 2006—BASCOM proudly announces its new online library of educational resources — the Faculty Room. Available to all K-12 teachers at, BASCOM's Faculty Room is an anytime, anywhere Internet home for educators that delivers content to develop curriculum using Web resources for instruction. It also features demonstrations, teacher tips and lesson plans for the Global Chalkboard — BASCOM's innovative and flexible, Internet teaching tool. The Faculty Room will be updated regularly to feature the following:

The Library—Celebrated days of the month are featured in this section. Each listed event is linked to a Web site that's hand-picked by BASCOM's Education Specialists — all certified teachers with classroom experience and expertise in creating K-12 curriculum.

The Classroom—A BASCOM lesson for the month is featured here. BASCOM lessons come preloaded on the Global Chalkboard. They are developed by our in-house Education Specialists and are built to satisfy a variety of curriculum requirements. Organized by subject and grade level, BASCOM lessons are designed to get educators started quickly with using Web resources to teach. This section links teachers to an online lesson plan for a featured BASCOM lesson so that they can develop their own curriculum at home.

The Media Center—Each month BASCOM features a live demonstration of a Global Chalkboard teacher tip here. BASCOM shares a mutual goal with teachers: to help children learn. To accomplish this objective we provide K-12 educators with the best possible Internet teaching tools so that they can successfully use Web resources in the classroom and easily replicate their best teaching practices.

BASCOM's Faculty Room also provides access to online lesson plans for all BASCOM lessons that come preloaded on the Global Chalkboard. These plans can be used to develop curriculum at home. It also delivers a variety of helpful hints on integrating technology with instruction and tips on how to the use the Global Chalkboard's Lesson Creator. Also available are reference guides for using the Global Chalkboard to develop lessons, a glossary of BASCOM terms, and a description of Web Library and Research Zone categories.
