BASCOM’s Tony Foxen Presents
“Internet Filtering for Mobile Device Programs” at IETC

Hauppauge, NY—Nov. 21, 2012—BASCOM Global Internet Services, Inc., a pioneering developer of Internet filtering solutions for PK-12, today announces that Tony Foxen, BASCOM’s Business Development Director, is presenting at the Illinois Education and Technology Conference (IETC) at 9:15 AM in the Capitol V room on Friday, November 30. In the presentation, Foxen discusses several of BASCOM Anywhere Filter™ deployments in Illinois school districts as part of a one to one initiative. He addresses many of the challenges specific to filtering iPad® and iOS mobile devices in education such as: standalone verses district-wide deployments, mobile device management (MDM) integration, and replacing Safari® with the Anywhere Filter browser app.

Educators recognize the value of using the iPad and other mobile devices in schools and need solutions to successfully execute one to one programs. BASCOM is an industry leader in web and mobile Internet filtering and developed Anywhere Filter as a mobile filtering solution specifically for learning. This innovative solution assists schools with managing and securing large numbers of iPad and other mobile devices given to staff and students by integrating with a leading MDM solution—Casper Suite by JAMF. Foxen describes in his presentation how a client was able to integrate Anywhere Filter with their MDM and successfully launch a one to one initiative.

"Anywhere Filter has allowed us to feel secure about sending several hundred iPad® devices home with our students,” says Jeff Agard, Technology Coordinater/IT Specialist from Quincy Notre Dame High School in Quincy, Illinois.   “And BASCOM's integration with our MDM has made managing the devices that much easier. Not a lot of companies really get Apple, so it's nice to see that BASCOM does."

Foxen goes on to provide specific details about other one to one deployments and how BASCOM provides outstanding technical support. BASCOM’s Technical Support Team is lead by Robert DeRosa, Chief Technology Officer, an industry expert in mobile filtering and Mac/iOS management. In fact, DeRosa recently presented the methods BASCOM used to integrate Anywhere Filter with Casper Suite at the JAMF Nation User Conference.

BASCOM has been a great partner to have as we rolled out our one to one program. Their Anywhere Filter is easy to install, available on several platforms, and gives me great control of the content accessible on my devices,” says Gabriel Forrester, Technology Director, Community Unit School District #4, Mendon, Illinois. “Also BASCOM’s Tech Support has been super-responsive to all of our requests and suggestions for future product development."
